T.K. Maxx is not somewhere I tend to go into very often as I truly believe it is a shop that you need to have a spare couple of hours as it is a little like a top quality jumble sale.
Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t mean that in a derogatory way, just that you have to spend a little time rummaging through to find a little gem.
And I have found a bit of a jewel in a dress that I have recently reviewed.
So, just what was I talking about?
The Navy Floral Midi Wrap Dress from Blue Vanilla.
A stunning faux wrap style dress with a smart darted neckline, the dress has little capped sleeves and a cute tulip shaped hemline. The best part of it though is a gorgeous large floral pattern with a background of navy.
This dress is still available on the T.K. Maxx website, but is only available in a size 26. It does have a tie belt at the back, which allows the dress to be pulled in for more shape.
I paired the dress with a knee length pair of boots and wore it to work. It was very popular and looked as good at the end of the 8 hour shift as when I put the dress on.
The flower pattern reminds me of a peony and I happened to have a similar peony hair flower which I added to accessorise with it. Add a pair of green hooped lucite earrings.
When it came to taking some photographs, I didn’t want to wear my boots as although they are pretty fab, I wanted to give a more dressy look so I added a pair of navy suede heels.
I went out into the garden around 6pm, just before I lost the light but also gained something else;the floofy one, Theodore had to photobomb a lot of my photographs. I wish I could say it is a one off, but he does it all the time!
Anyway, the dress is very smart, yet also suitable for wearing to work, a function, dinner or even a wedding with the right accessories.
So, how much did this little gem cost?
The dress had an RRP of £34.00 which in itself was a pretty good price, however this was an absolute bargain at the amazing price of £8.00!
Was it worth it?
Absolutely.
The material is of a high quality with a little stretch to it and was supremely comfortable. If I am completely honest, it is so beautifully made and with enough give that I could probably have sized down.
However, the dress give a much more flattering silhouette this way, as it does not cling to my considerable hips. This would be a great option for those who are not comfortable showing a VBL (visible belly line) or shapely hips.
I actually really love this dress and feel very confident in it. The design is great and would be a real asset to most people’s wardrobes just as it is in mine.
You could certainly do no wrong in investing in this dress for its minimal price, and I think you would get a lot of wear out of it.
The only thing I foresee is that I will find a whole lot more to purchase on the T.K. Maxx website which will prove deadly for the pocket, even with these brilliant prices.
What do you think?
Till next time,
