Over the past few months I have been showing off a growing collection of garments from Miss Candyfloss, a Swedish repro vintage company.
Mellow Yellow
I had been lucky enough to come across a French company that had some fantastic bargains and I had splurged a little in the sales and had been showing off the various bits and pieces I had collated.
Flower Power
Some of the items were perfect for the Summer months, but a couple of them were of thicker, warmer material and too much for the warmer weather, but now I had no excuse, the weather was changing as were the leaves on the trees.
Coffee and Cream
It was time to break out the heavier weight clothing!
Black and Gold
I actually have two items that were more suitable for the Autumn, a green and yellow tartan dress and matching jacket and this next review, a blue, grey and black tartan dress.
Top Tartan
Now as I already said, this was more of a colder weather dress, but having bought it in June I have completely forgotten the name of this style!
Pretty In Plaid
However, the one thing I can call it, is Stunning.
Blue Babe
A swing style dress with a form fitting body, this dress has three quarter sleeves, a cinched shoulder section and a contrasting belt. The material is a brilliant blue, grey, black and white tartan.
Check Mate
In the photographs I wore the dress on its own, however it also looks fabulous with a petticoat underneath without it being too ‘poofy’ or over the top.
Bloomin’
One of the planned ideas with this dress is to pair it up with knee high black boots and a black cardigan. This would take it into a perfect winter outfit and still look elegant.
French Fancy
I love the fact that this dress also has pockets which are cinched in the same design as the shoulder section. An edging of black material is accentuated by a little tartan loop.
Garden Girl
The best part of this dress is the chest area which is a very clever design. The body is fitted before rising up to two full bust cups which ‘hold the girls’ up and keep them in place.
Super Swing Style
It is very hard to describe how this is created, however you can see from the photographs that this ruched full area is made up of separate sections.
Floral Fantasy
The dress is an absolute stunner and I know that Miss Candyfloss do this particular design in various materials. Although the sleeves and pockets are different, the bust area is identical on the grey and yellow dress that I bought with the matching jacket (as seen here).
Grand and Glorious
I have to admit that I love this design so much that I am already looking out for more Miss Candyfloss dresses with the same design as I know how well it fits me.
Full and Fantastic
If I am honest, I would love it in a Christmas vibe tartan; green, red and white with maybe a little fur trimmed collar and cuffs…
