Many of you may remember a post I did last December when I went and met the marvellous Boo Brown in London for a pre-Christmas jolly.
Say Cheese!
We visited The Cheese Bar, Libertys, Fortnum & Mason and took a walk down New Bond Street to see the amazing light display. If you missed it, you can have a look here.
The Sights and Lights
During the visit we exchanged Christmas presents and I was absolutely stunned when she gave me a voucher for a very special commission.

A Naked Embroidery!
A side line of the amazing Sew Me Away, the Soft Bodies Project is the brainchild of the owner and creator, Kathryn. She takes a naked or semi-naked photograph that you send to her confidentially and creates the most wonderful embroidery.
Snag Me!
I had honestly never heard of the project and immediately went onto Instagram to have a look what it was all about.
The project is about promoting body positivity and I am all for that!
Epic Eva (Michalak)
Now, the big issue was finding a photograph that I wanted to have immortalised in thread.
I emailed Kathryn to discuss cashing in my voucher and asked for a little advice with regards to what she would need in order to get a good subject for her creation.
Savage Fenty
As I didn’t really know what exactly I wanted, I spoke to Kathryn and asked if it was okay to send two or three photographs for her to look over and see if suitable.
Before you all start thinking I have hundreds of naked photographs hanging around, I don’t.
Blonde Bombshell
What I do have is quite a lot of boudoir shoots and product reviews that involve levels of nudity.
As much as I am happy with my body, size and shape, the thought of a nude embroidery on display made me quite anxious. Not anxious in the way of panic, but more in how others would perceive the design.
Rear….Window
In the end, I sent several photographs to Kathryn and we discussed which one would be the best one.
Making a decision is not my strongpoint, so in the end I told Kathryn to choose which photograph she wanted and to keep it a surprise.
A Sweet Note
Around a month later I received an email telling me that the embroidery was almost ready and that Kathryn would send me some photographs to make sure that I was happy with what she had made.
A week or so later another email popped into my inbox with a few attachments.
The Reveal
I eagerly opened the files and saw the most beautiful stitchwork.
She had chosen a photograph that was taken on a shoot in Birmingham. Black bra, knickers and a gorgeous blonde bob wig and no shoes.
Tummy and Tattoo
What I loved the most was how Kathryn had picked up on the subtle hints of my thigh bulges and my tummy apron. She had paid homage to my tattoos which I also adored.
I was so happy with the choice that she made from the photographs that I had sent her, especially as this individual piece of artwork is without a doubt, ME.
Delicate and Delightful
But it is also different enough that people wouldn’t necessarily immediately guess it was ME.
And this also means I can display it without that anxiety affecting me. After all, it is ‘just’ a beautiful piece of art.
Perfect!
However, you can rest assured that when people notice it and comment, I will proudly announce that the art is me.
