A few weeks ago I had a lovely email from Julie representing the dress company, Ever Pretty.
Ever Pretty!
If you are not aware of the company, they specialise in evening gowns, prom and party dresses in sizes 8 to 30.
Evening Gown Gorgeous
Well as it was nearly the end of October, I gratefully took up her offer and started to have a look at all the different designs and options in my size.
Champagne!
One of the first things I actually did was to check the size guide for the brand. I normally wear a size 26, however I had read a few reviews that said the sizes came up a little small compared to standard UK sizing.
Strike A Pose!
After that it was very simple to go onto the site and choose the filter that would show me all the dresses that would fit.
Style and Substance
I have to admit that when I started looking at all the options, I was amazed at the sheer choice, especially in the array of colours on offer.
Full and Fabulous
After a lot of deliberation, I had narrowed it down to three different choices;
Looking at the three options, I made sure of the sizing I would need based on their guides. In all three, I would need a size 30 in order to fit my bust area.
Elegant and Enticing
As this didn’t help narrow down the choice I had to make, I was still torn between the three dresses. Deciding to look at each design logically, I compared the fit, the embellishments, what underwear would be needed and what kind of occasion I could wear it for.
he next question was what colour to go for as it was available in eight colours; Black, Dusty Navy, Rose Gold Burgundy, Green Bean, Navy, Dusty Blue and Purple Orchid.
A Glass or Two…
Eventually I decided on the not very prettily named ‘Green Bean’ which was similar to a beautiful Eau de Nil or light sage colour.
…Of Bubbles
I sent my choice to the lovely Julia and she told me that it would be with me very shortly. I literally could not wait.
Feeling Like A Princess
About 5 days later, a parcel arrived and I eagerly tore it open.
I was NOT disappointed.
Green with Envy
Huge voluminous layers of Tulle, topped with a pretty sequinned bodice. Off the shoulder wide straps led down to a sweetheart style neckline which was exceptionally flattering.
Green Goddess
I couldn’t wait to try it on, so grabbed my shoes, wriggled into the gown and made my way out into the garden for some photographs.
Flirty and Flouncy
The dress is a real showstopper; light and ethereal, yet very classy at the same time.
Casino Night
I added a pair of green drop earrings and that was enough to accompany the gown. If wearing this out to an event, I would add a vintage wrap and an original lucite bag.
Roulette Time
When I was getting the dress on, I remembered a pair of Irregular Choice Ban-Joe heels that I bought a few years back which are a similar green colour.
Classy Croupier
Bedecked in glitter, with a green velvet heel and big front bow, the glitter was quite a similar shade to the dress and made a perfect match.
Sassy Shoes
The measurements for a size 30 are 51.2 bust and 44.5 waist. The dress comes in a standard length of 61 inches, which for me is a little long by 3 or 4 inches.
Spin The Wheel
I could get the hem taken up a little, however with a pair of heels on it will worth perfectly fine.
Chips Ahoy
The dress looks a million dollars, but how much does it cost?
Legs!
£56.99 which is an absolute bargain, in my opinion.
Splash The Cash
The dress is the start of my pre-Christmas posh dress search and review. This means there will be a couple of other long elegant gowns I will be reviewing before the festive season.
Sparkling Sequins
Look out for some stunning velvet numbers and a lot of sparkle.
