Over the past couple of years the run up to Christmas has been a bit of a gloomy affair for many.
…Blue Velvet
Two years of COVID meant many cancelled parties, nights out and family get togethers, just simply due to circumstances.
Normally I attend at least one festive event where a glamorous dress is needed, however that has definitely not been the case during those years.
Serene Siren
However, I have certainly made up for it this year with four evening gowns which I am going to showcase over the next few blogs.
I did have a fifth, however that one premiered last week, the ever-pretty sequin bodice tulle gown which you can read here if you missed it.
All The Curves
The next offering is a stunner from Shein.
A most gorgeous dark blue velvet gown with a train; plain in design yet with a lot of pizazz.
A Velvet Puddle
As I have previously mentioned, I am only 5ft tall so there is an inherent risk when I buy gowns.
When they are already floor length, having a train means it is much more likely to be twice as long as needed.
Va-Va-Voom Velvet
This is certainly the case with the blue velvet gown.
However, due to the design I could get away with the length as long as I wear a towering pair of heels!
Strike A Pose
Going forward I might get a few inches removed for ease of wear.
However, the extra material made a beautiful ‘puddle’ of velvet around me and certainly made for amazing photographs.
Vixen In Velvet
The dress is a 5XL which works out as a size 26 UK but is a very stretchy material so fit my size 26 frame beautifully.
One of the things I love the most about the dress was the actual colour of the blue velvet. It is not navy, nor midnight, nor bright blue.
A Perfect Party Dress
In fact I can’t even name the colour as it changes with the knap of the material and whichever way you brush it.
Either way, the dress is exceptionally beautiful and I feel like a 50’s film star when putting it on.
Smile!
For the photographs I kept it very simple and just added my vintage fur wrap and a sparkling star design necklace and earrings.
Two days before these photographs I had my hair cut off into a sophisticated bob – more to come on this in another blog. I loved how classy the haircut and dress looked together.
Gorgeous Gal
I have a plan for this dress in the upcoming festive season, as it literally makes me feel so confident and, well simply put, ravishing.
If you think this could be the dress for your Christmas Party, then you can find it here. The original price of £49.04.
Train-tastic
There are also various discount codes depending on how much you spend, so you could get the dress for the low price of £34.33 by using the code HF30
To be honest, even at full price this dress is more than worth it and bound to get you many compliments when wearing it.
