The final of my evening gown reviews has to be my absolute favourite.
If you have missed the others, you can recap here, here and here.
This time though, it is the turn of a right bobby dazzler
A rich red gown that has all the va-va-voom an elegant Christmas gown needs and lets me live out my full Jessica Rabbit fantasies.
Let me start at the beginning and tell you all about it.
Whilst bimbling about on the tinterweb I spotted some gorgeous evening gowns and whilst looking, it came up with other ‘suggestions’.
As soon as I saw this dress, I knew I had to have it. Well assuming it came in my size.
So what exactly was I enamored with?
A floor length, velvet gown absolutely bedecked from top to bottom in millions of sequins. The style was what really called to me though; a one shouldered design with a huge red satin bow.
It literally spoke to me and I knew I had to make it mine.
The dress is available in sizes 6 – 26 and I ordered mine in a 5XL (26) which gave the measurements as 48.8″ on the bust, 45.7″ waist and 51.2″ around the hips.
Now these measurements are wildly too small for my actual frame however reading the reviews it was apparent that the dress had a lot of stretch and ran large.
Knowing I could send the dress back if it didn’t fit, I took a risk and ordered away.
Priced at £59.49 there was the standard kind of discount voucher always available on Shein and I got this dress for a spectacular £44.14.
The quality of the dress is exceptional. Velvety soft stretch fabric caresses every curve and line of the body without overtly sexualising the female shape.
It is glamorous, elegant and yet there is a sexiness to it without it being tacky.
Can you tell that I really love it?
I took it away on the recent family holiday and was fortunate to get some amazing photographs including a ‘Statue of Liberty’ pose. Well, if you have a beach ball and a pool, why wouldn’t you?
There were some other silly poses, such as throwing the ball and trying to play snooker (which I am rubbish at) but all in all the dress looked stunning no matter the pose.
I have to be honest. This dress is THE perfect Christmas dress. It has glamour, is festive red, is perfect for such a special occasion AND is very comfortable to wear.
Seems like I picked a real winner with this one, it really is that good!
So far I haven’t had the chance to wear it out, however there is a ball I might be going to in May which could be the perfect chance to wear it and feel like the gorgeous, glamorous Goddess I am.
