Last weekend I was due to go to the amazing ‘Festival of Vintage’ held in York.
I had been last year and had such an amazing time that I was very excited to go back again this year.
Sadly that was not to be. Mum was thankfully released from hospital after 10 weeks and I was needed at home to look after her and my other relatives.
Red Velvet Half Hat
Whilst I missed out on what looked like a fantastic event, being home was far more important and also pretty good fun, if I am honest.
Tasselled Totty
Trips to the supermarket, roast dinners, silly television shows and lots of laughter.
Exciting Parcels
One of the things I had missed out on at York was the chance to visit ‘Pin Up Curls’ stand though. The brilliant Sarah creates such wonderful hair accessories, tasselled half-hats and floral wonderments.
Coronation Colours
I have several hair flower/corsage sets and a recent purchase of a velvet/tasselled half-hat which I wore to a vintage weekend at The Earl of Doncaster.
Beautiful Hair Accessory
The idea of purchasing another which would compliment a certain outfit really appealed to me. If nothing took my fancy, then I planned to talk about a commission as I wanted something very specific
Coronation Chic
Unfortunately as I say, that didn’t happen.
Ravishing Red
However, a couple of days after the festival, Sarah put up a post online advertising a few of the items that were still available.
Lady In Red
One immediately caught my eye; a red, white and blue Coronation themed beauty. This comprised a hair flower and a corsage which could be worn in a variety of places.
Royal In Red
I contacted Sarah to purchase the items and two days later it arrived on my doorstep.
Queen for a Day
It was as wonderful as all her other creations; velvet covered stems, accentuated with red and white striped ribbon. Flowers placed ‘just so’ creating a spectacle of contrasting colours.
Pin Perfect
The items were beautifully packaged with Sarah’s special care and attention.
Colour Perfect
I gleefully opened the package and was absolutely delighted, as always.
Coronation Style
The intention was to wear it on Coronation Saturday, even though there was nothing planned other than a visit to the opticians and Asda (other Supermarkets are available)
Corsage Fit For a Queen OR a King
My hair flower and corsage really hit the spot and I couldn’t be happier with it.
Red Queen
Of course, that does mean I still need to speak to Sarah about the commission to go with my turquoise tiki dress.
