Being on Social Media has given me multiple adventures and opportunities over the past eight/nine years.
One of the most wonderful of things to happen has been when artists and creators make contact and tell me they have painted, sketched or created a caricature of some of my photographs.
Sometimes this has been out of the blue when they pop up into my messages with a painting to show me, other times they have emailed or messaged and asked for permission.
Either way, I am always humbled and honoured that they want to take my face and body and make something creative and if I am biased, always beautiful.
One of the very first to do so is the epically talented The Pie Eyes who creates cartoons and caricatures.
The First Creation
Over the past few years he has made dozens (if not more) pictures of me and even started a series of ‘cheap 1950’s style paperbacks’ in which I have featured twice.
First In A Series
The Killer Came From Behind and the very first one in his series, The Jezebel Job.
Callipygian Press
Hanke Ernst was the next to make contact and ask if he could create a painting for an exhibition he was taking part in.
This was a slightly different kind of picture as he wanted to use a photograph of my participation in a Murder Mystery event where I was playing ‘Champagne Charlie’.
A vintage top hat, Poirot style moustache, bow tie and braces finished off the look.
The Masculine Look
Hanke Ernest adds different animals into his paintings and in this case he added a turkey.
The finished look was exhibited in Germany!
At The Exhibition
Another fine art painting was created by Mike Shiels who goes by the name of Portraitandfiguresketchbook on Instagram.
He chose a photograph of me with vintage style curled hair and called it “Only Mama Knows” which I thought was quite apt given that I have a very curious/secretive look on my face.
Curl Set and a Vintage Flick
I adore the colour palette that he used and I think that he has captured my look exactly right, from the downturn to my lips and even my double-chin, which I think is pretty special.
His Instagram page is full of amazing realistic portraits so I highly recommend giving him a follow.
Vintage Me
The most recent creation was sent to me by a complete stranger via Instagram. A private message arrived from a Franzbatmilk and I assumed it would be the regular kind of offer, whether fat reducing pills, dick pics or offer of how to grow my Instagram following.
Instead, I was exceedingly surprised to see another portrait which had been created by Craig (the alter-ego of Franzbatmilk) using a wonderful photograph that had been taken by the beautiful Velvet D’amour several years ago.
Velvet’s Vision
In the photograph I am reclining in a corset and suspenders, on a chaise longue in a stately home.
Craig had taken the photograph and used his talent to recreate every single aspect of the photograph even down to my tattoos and the patterns on the cushions.
Monotonous Hotness (Craigs working title)
Of course, I love this portrait as much as every other creation that has been made of/for me. This one is actually based in Australia, which is mind-blowing yet so wonderful.
The thought that someone the opposite side of the World has taken my image, created something and that creation is now hanging up is such a huge honour and I cannot thank all of the artists enough for their wonderful creations.
