Every year I try and increase my Christmas wardrobe.
By that, I mean I like to add some extra festive dresses to my repertoire when going into work and spreading some festive spirit. So far I have three or four skirts with matching head wraps and around three dresses.
This December I upped that by six more dresses all from the amazing Lady V London.
Now I have to admit that two of the dresses were purchased last January in the half price sale. Given they were very Christmassy in their design, I knew I had to put them away for 11 months until the festive season came around again.
The other four were purchased at the beginning of December and arrived within a couple of days, so perfect for the week before Christmas when I could show them off at work.
At the beginning of December, Boo and I went to Croatia for 5 days to visit the Christmas markets. I packed my suitcase full of warm clothing and added the two sale dresses and a green dress that I had been gifted on my birthday.
The ‘Best’ Beret
My plan was to add accessories to make them even more festive.
So, how did it go?
Well, the first dress was the ‘Hepburn’ style of dress in a bright red. The pattern involved Christmas trees of different sizes and colours, candy canes and presents.
Red Trees
Now the Hepburn dress is sleeveless so I added a green long sleeved top underneath. My favourite hat, a green beret with reindeer and embellishments was added, along with a wonderful green ‘Marple’ scarf that was knitted by one of my best friends.
Perfect.
My second outfit was also a Hepburn dress, this time in black with candy canes, holly and trees.
Candy Cane Cuteness
Again I added a black long sleeve top and the beret/scarf combination. I also matched this with a festive pair of earrings in the shape of Christmas trees.
Miss Marple Marvellousness
My last outfit in Croatia was a plain green swing dress from Dolly and Dotty. It was such a Christmas shade that I thought with the right accessories, it would be very festive.
Green Goddess
I had purchased a fabulous necklace in a shop in Croatia which couldn’t be any more apt; Santa, snowflakes, trees, and gingerbread men. A pair of bauble shaped earring completed the look.
Wandering around Zagreb, I managed to get some great shots of the Christmas markets, but not many of my full length outfits.
Necklace of Noel
Thankfully this was a little easier on my return home.
The four dresses I purchased in December had arrived; three Elsie dresses and one Hepburn.
Dress number one was my favourite; very dark navy with strings of Christmas lights all over it. The Elsie is a wiggle dress with a side peplum which drapes over the left hip.
Light Up
I love the Elsie and have it in several other prints including one that is mint green with candy canes all over that I have had for a couple of years, hence it not being added in this write up.
My Favourite One
My second dress was black and completely covered in holly leaves and berries. Quite plain whilst being very decorative if that makes any sense.
Merry Mistletoe
I liked the fact that I could add red. green or black shoes depending on the occasion.
Rear of the Year
Dress number three was a dark base again, a weird combination of green/blue. This was covered in red, orange, pink, mint and green simplistic trees.
Terrific Trees
The unusual colour really called to me and again I loved the fact that I could mix and match shoes and jewellery to it easily.
Festive Foliage
My last dress was the anomaly in that it was a Hepburn.
It was just so cute that I couldn’t resist; nutcrackers, ballerinas, the mouse king, angels and trees all on a white background.
Nut-Crackers
I added my green long sleeve top and the piece de resistance, my Chocolaticas shoes which are red, white and green festive print with the right shoe being green and the left, red!
Chocolatica Christmas
Of course. my green beret had to make an appearance.
These dresses, added with my previous purchases got my through the season of Noel in perfect style and Lady V London still has stock on their website.
More Croatian Cuteness
Even better they are heavily reduced in the New Year sales, so you could grab yourself a bit of a bargain as all of these dresses (and more) are half price Why not put them away till next year, just as I did this year.
