When I was away in Bali with Boo and the Eurobitches, I was introduced to the amazing creations of JessaKae by Rachel when she shared one of her dresses with the wider group.
She had brought it for the photoshoot that we had on our first full day together and was very gracious in letting me try it on (and take some fab photos in it).
JessaKae Beautifulness
I absolutely loved the dress although I would need to grow at least a foot for it to fit properly, however it was amazing on the high swings in Bali where it flowed out beautifully behind me.
Fast forward to December when JessaKae announced a 40% off sale on their items.
Another of My Purchases
Well, a girl couldn’t resist that big a saving, could she.
I placed an order for a couple of dresses and waited patiently for them to be delivered. In the meantime, Boo and I went to Croatia and there was another sale advertised and I threw a couple more dresses into the basket and checked out.
Boo also wanted some pieces so we combined our orders and had them delivered to her.
Huge Skirt
Now I was meeting up with her and the Eurobitches in London and Boo was bringing a bag of goodies all for me.
I have to say, I was not aware just how big that bag was going to be, but when she handed a huge sports bag over, that contained just my stuff, I was floored.
Of course, I had to have an impromptu try on, which as I had no hair or make-up done, wasn’t the best time to do it, but I literally couldn’t wait to see if they fitted me.
Ravishing Raspberry Colour
Thankfully all of them did and whilst I loved them all, there were a couple that really pleased me, including the Mistletoe dress which sadly is no longer on the website.
I decided to wear this dress to Afternoon Tea at The Lanesborough Hotel.
Delicate Heels, Too
Pairing it with a pair of cute pink velvet ballerina shoes, I felt as pretty as a princess in my outfit.
To be fair, I have better shoes/accessories at home, including several handbags, but of course I didn’t have them with me in London.
Mistletoe But NO Wine
The dress was a perfect choice for Afternoon tea as it was Queen Charlotte themed and this was certainly a regal dress.
Well, now you know all about how I came to have the dress, but what exactly was the dress like?
I have to say that JessaKae dresses are very generous in their sizing. Many of the dresses have smocking on the bodice which gives it extra stretch, however the Mistletoe dress was a fixed bodice so there was a little concern that it would be rather snug.
Afternoon Tea Time
Thankfully, this was not to be and it actually fitted like a dream. I had gone with my normal 4XL which equalled a size 26. I also checked the bust measurements which showed on the website as 55″ to 58″ which again seemed like the perfect size for me.
The skirt of the dress is made up of several layers of netting and tulle which gives it a lot of volume and increases the Princess effect. There is a interior layer of material that prevents the tulle from being on your skin which can be a little irritating.
A Queenly Wave
As the dress is not available at the moment I cannot link it or even give you an idea as to the price, however I can honestly say it is worth every penny. The embroidery is so detailed and gives the dress a really special design.
I have a beautiful floral headpiece that I think could work exceptionally well with this dress and I certainly plan on giving it a try when I next choose to wear it out.
Pretty As A Princess
All I need is more afternoon teas or invites to Buckingham Palace in which to wear it to.
