My most recent blog was talking all about some amazing shoes that I bought before Christmas.
The Hot Chocolate Designs/Chocolaticas were festive and fun, but sadly need to be kept for 2025 as my recent knee replacement meant I couldn’t wear heels yet.
2024’s Purchase
If you would like to see what I purchased, then you can read it all here.
At the end of the post I hinted about several other items that I had purchased in the January sales, again Christmas themed and I intend to put them up in the attic until December 2025 and then I can wear them to my hearts content.
The items I got were all from Irregular Choice.
What’s In The Box?
Now, this is a brand that I have reviewed on multiple occasions, as I have around 15 – 20 pairs of this brand so far.
My favourites have been the Little Mermaid collaboration heels and flats which I wore to see “Unfortunate” at the theatre, twice last year!
Unfortunate Ursula
This time I had ordered three pairs of shoes and a special accessory which I simply couldn’t resist.
Amazing Ariel
So what had I purchased now?
Box No 1
Well the first item I had spotted online was the most beautiful pair of blue shoes called “Snow Queen”
What caught my eye with these shoes was the stunning glittery material used which was accentuated by a blue velvet bow and snowflakes.
The Snow Queen
A little red parcel tag embroidered with “Irregular Choice” is tucked under the beautiful double bow as a lovely feature.
Sparkling Snow
Throw in lots of silver and green sparkles and a matching ‘Louis’ or ‘French’ style heel
She wore Blue Velvet
The shoes were originally priced at £135, these were reduced to £95 so in the basket they went.
Tagged!
As they landed, they also took another pair with them; “Snow Queen” in red!
A Study in Scarlet
Literally, exactly the same apart from the base colour, I just couldn’t resist them.
Festive Fun
The only big difference I could see was the parcel tag being a bright purple colour, although the sparkling areas seem to be more golden than the blue pair are.
Ravishing Red
Also priced at £95, these just couldn’t be left behind.
Purple Tagged
My final purchases were a matched set; Boots and a Bag.
Now, with this purchase, you will either love them or hate them. They are truly Marmite for many as, I have to say, they are truly out there!
Ready to Colour in
Featuring a snowy village, tartan ribbons with white snowball tips, red patent toe area and a cheeky snowman with gloves, a scarf and a top hat, I just simply could not resist.
The best part about the boot?
The Inside Edge
A plump little snowman acts as the heel of the boot, which is just too cute to resist.
The matching bag is also one I could not resist.
Sweet Snowman
Also Snowman shaped, it looks exactly the same as the snowman on the boots, right down to the tartan scarf and rosy cheeks.
The gloves and hat are fully glittered, whilst the sides and back are of iridescent product; gold and green.
Terrific Tartan
Also on the back are three rectangles. One at the top which you can thread a long strap through, and two equal ones nearer the bottom with D-rings to attach the bag strap through, creating a rucksack style.
One of the absolute best things about the bag is the little oval red plastic nose, which lights up when you tap it gently.
Chonky Heels
Now, I know I am fifty years old, but I absolutely love cute designs and both the bag and boots just call out to me, telling me that I am not too old to wear them.
So I shall!
Bootiful!
Well, actually I will try and wear them.
To be honest, the heel is a little higher than I would normally prefer, so it may be that my knee won’t like this.
Snowman-tastic
However, I won’t know this until my knee is completely healed, so I will just take the chance.
I have a plan B too.
Look at that cute face!
In the event the boots just don’t work for me, I will have stored them in a dry, cool area which will preserve them nicely. Irregular Choice shoes have a huge resell market, and certainly the more unusual styles or those that aren’t around for a very long time, appreciate in value.
Now, I have to say that these boots were far more expensive than I would ever have normally paid for something, however I did have some money for Christmas and why shouldn’t I waste it on something frivolous like snowman boots?
Rucksack or clutch bag?
Originally priced at £229, I got these at the reduced price of £169 which whilst still a LOT of money, will be an investment of sorts. You can go online and find lots of posts on eBay, Vinted and other reselling sites where the shoes have gone up considerably.
My intention, of course, is to wear the heck out of them, but in the event that I can’t, then I have an option to sell.
Flashy, eh?
The biggest problem though would be whether to sell the bag at the same time or keep it on its own.
After all, it is extremely cute and I love a Christmas style bag!
Removable Straps
I guess I will have to wait in around 11 months time.
