I was first introduced to Jessakae dresses by the beautiful Rachel when we met on my first trip to Bali, back in 2023.
She had the most amazing floral embroidered dress, which she wore to the photoshoot we had, and was so gracious to allow me to wear it for some photographs and on the high swings trip we made.

Bali Babe
It was so pretty, pink and creamy yellow flowers on a cream material, the embroidery was just out of this world. I knew I had to get myself at least one of their dresses.
Ever since, I have been completely in awe of their creations and in the past 18 months have managed to avail myself of 8 or 9 of their creations, including a stunning dress I wore to see Andre Rieu in concert, back in April 2024.

Liverpool Adventure
At the end of last year I ordered 4 or 5 dresses from a huge sale they were doing, knowing that I wouldn’t be able to wear some of them until the Spring/Summer of this year, given the design of them.
The time eventually came for the first dress, which was the one I fell in love with the most and was the first one in my basket; The Nellie Dress.

Testing the dress out
Covered in pale lilac and darker purple Wisteria, along with green leaves, the chiffon covered overdress was beyond pretty. I just knew I had to have it.
It was, of course a complete warmer weather garment. Both the print and the design of the dress were made for sweet Spring days and sultry Summer nights.

The Marvellous Michaela
I gave it a premier at my yearly Vintage ball where I chose to wear it as a day dress.
A few months before the event I contacted the amazing Sarah Bloor of Pin Up Curl to ask her to create some hair flowers for me, which would match. I sent multiple pictures of the dress to try and match the colouring as perfect as possible.

The End Result
Sarah did a sterling job and made 3 hair flowers in total, for this dress; 1 large spray and 2 smaller identical versions. This would allow for different hairstyles or even hats to be worn with them.
They arrived and I stored them with the rest of my garments ready for the ball…

Can’t Believe How Long It Has Got!
Eventually the day arrived and I drove up to the hotel where I would be spending the next 3 nights.
First day I wore a wore a wonderful red and green tropical print dress and jacket, before changing into my evening wear. Then Saturday arrived and it was time to show off the Jessakae.

The Nellie in All Her Glory
I paired up the Wisteria printed dress with green Lulu-Hun sandals, the stunning hair flowers from Sarah and added complimentary jewellery.
The choice of bag was a small lilac Lucite clutch style bag that suited it perfectly.

The Perfect Setting
As my hair had already been styled by the fabulous Michaela from Edelweiss Hair, all I had to do was pop the clip in flowers on my side of choice and I was ready to go.
One of the activities on offer during Saturday was a vintage style mini-photoshoot with the brilliant Anna. I booked in and turned up in my Lilac loveliness, and she took some fabulous shots of me.

Inside is just as Fabulous
Once done, I popped outside of the hotel that the event was being held in, and had some pictures with the Art Deco façade as a backdrop. I was wanting to walk around the corner to the local park but sadly my knee didn’t really want to co-operate so I had to give it a miss!
The new dress got lots of compliments about how pretty it was, and I was really pleased that it fitted the vintage brief of the weekend.

Vintage Shoot
I also wore another Jessakae dress that evening, The Charlotte Dress, which was a floral evening gown. I will give you a sneak peek here, but further blogging with be done soon.
All in all, I couldn’t have been more thrilled with my choices for the weekend, and I still have 4 or 5 dresses to showcase!

Look at that Hair Flower
The Nellie cost me £75 in the sale, but of course I had to pay shipping and tax from the USA. As I had several dresses it is hard to pin it completely down, but I would say that it came to around £90, all in.
It really is a stunner of a dress, and as I have been writing this, I have noticed they now do it in a blue pattern also called Nellie.

Now, where is my bank card…..?
