Today was the Main Event…. The Dinner Dance at my vintage weekend and boy, was I looking forward to it!
So far I had written about the Thursday arrival, Friday mini photo-shoot and the dance in the evening where I wore two dresses.
A Good Start to the Day

Now it was time for the main day which started off with a full English. Well, you just have to, don’t you?
New Vintage Do
I had another appointment with Edelweiss Vintage Hair to freshen up my ‘do and Michaela worked her magic again.
This was quite handy as I had booked a vintage photoshoot with the lovely Anna for that afternoon.
Lovely Lilac
I was planning on wearing a brand new dress to me; The Nellie Dress by Jessakae.
This was a stunning vintage style organza dress covered in lilac and purple hydrangea blossoms.
The Earl
The second I saw it, I fell absolutely head over heels for it. It was everything I loved in a dress and I knew it would be perfect for my vintage weekend away.
When it had arrived from the USA I had made contact with the brilliant Sarah Bloor of Pin Up Curl and asked her to make me some bespoke hair flowers; 2 small ones and 1 larger headpiece that would be for special occasions.
Floral Fantasy
I accessorised my outfit with a lilac Lucite bag, green Lulu Hun vintage style shoes and I was all set for being captured by the fabulous Anna.
Heading up to her room, she gave me an overview of what she had in mind, and I have to say I was more than thrilled with her ideas.
Anna Works Her Magic
Now came the difficulty.
Getting down on the floor with a knee that doesn’t move in the way it used to, was most difficult.

Getting up was even harder!
Anna promised she would help me up, put lots of cushions and pillows on the floor and got me into the position she wanted.
Lovely in Lilac
Now it was time to try and make a vintage pose.
I have to admit, the hair by Michaela and the floral spray that Sarah had made, I felt quite in the era I was trying to portray.

Anna encouraged me with more poses and I was more than happy to oblige.
After my shoot, I headed back downstairs and had a few snaps taken inside and outside of the beautiful building.
Elegant at The Earl
Eventually I made my way inside and had a listen to the DJ spinning some amazing vintage tunes, before it was time to go and get myself ready for the main event, where I would be wearing a dress that made me feel like a princess.
Oh, and did I mention a handmade velvet half hat by Sarah?
Nellie Knocks Me Out
I was so excited to get ready and debut the outfit.
Hitting the shower, I made sure not to mess my hair up, before chilling on the bed, watching The Chase whilst putting on my standard make-up; powder, blush, eyebrows, flicked eyeliner and a pair of half lashes, which I glued on very carefully.
