Well, it was here again, the last day of Twinwood, and what a day it was going to be!
The sun was high in the sky, and it looked like it was going to be a scorcher, so I was happy that I had chosen a tiki style dress that I have been wearing for around 10 years now, so it is it’s own brand of vintage.

Saturdays Look
One of my first purchases from Pin Up Girl Clothing, my purple and green tiki dress with matching bolero jacket is something I have worn multiple times.
I loved the dress that much that I purchased it in red/orange, blue/burgundy and a black satin version.

Off Shopping
If you read my recent blog, you would have seen how I had treated myself to some Rocket Originals, one pair in green leather and one in purple suede.
I was a little torn about which pair to wear, however I have many more outfits with green in them than purple, so the suede Ida’s were my choice for the day.

Green Goddess
My accessories included a Nicoletta Carlone green lucite repro bag and purple and green bangles. I didn’t have a necklace, but maybe that was something I could rectify on the many stalls onsite.
Arriving around 1030, I got my uncles settled in, with food and drink and a band about to play and went off for wander to see if I could find a green necklace.

The Bag of Wonder
I headed for the Century Club and started checking through the wonderful jewellery on display at various stalls.
Spotting a lovely vintage lady I know, we stopped to have a quick natter.

Me and the lovely Carmen/Ann 2024
I met Ann at a vintage weekend in 2024 and although she told me her name was Ann, she reminded me so much of Carmen Silvera, an actress who played the long-suffering wife of Rene in ‘Allo ‘Allo.
In my head, I know she is called Ann, but she will always be Carmen to me!

What a Look!
On a previous meet up, I had told her of my name for her, and she found it quite funny, so I know she won’t be offended if she reads this.
Anyway, Ann happened to be on the same stall as me, and she was about to try on a stunning original vintage evening dress in purple.

Caught The Sun
I asked what size shoes she was, and she just so happened to be a size 5, like me.
Popping my shoes off, I offered them to her to try and get the full effect of what the evening gown would look like.

Purple Passion
They were a perfect match, and she looked absolutely divine, so of course I had to tell her so.
On the same stall, I came across a small green beaded necklace priced at just £5, and asked Ann her opinion on it. She agreed it would look lovely, so I snatched it up, thinking my quest was through.

New Necklace
I passed by the “Shoeshine Movement” stall and saw that the lovely gent from the “Geronimo’s” stall was having his shoes shined.
We got into a discussion about mental health, the stigma for men, alcoholism and even more. It was a real eye-opener and quite a moving part of the whole weekend.

Shoeshine Time
I thanked them both and wandered around the rest of the stalls when I came upon an even more marvellous green necklace.
This was on the Amelia Vintage stall, and I also found some purple earrings which would match my outfit if I decided against green accessories.

Strike A Pose!
Popping across to another stall, I saw a lovely small green bag with Lucite handles. An absolute bargain at just £6.00, so of course I had to add that to my little stash of goodies.
Feeling I had perhaps purchased enough, I decided to head on up to the Control Tower to have a listen to some rock n roll and watch some jiving.

The Fabulous Dickie and Jenny
I also knew there was a fab ice cream seller up there, and it was a really hot day…
Zooming up in my wheelchair, I just happened to pass the Rocket Originals stall.

Loving the Day
Fatal, really!
Having now worn two pairs of Rockets in the past two days and realising just how amazing they are, I had to pop in again.

Colour Co-ordination
I have many dresses which are red or have red within them.
I have red and white shoes, red, black and white shoes, red and blue shoes and even a pair that are red, yellow and orange.

The Rocket Stall
What I don’t have is a pair of plain red shoes.
Of course, I knew that Rockets do plain red shoes, so it would be silly to not have a look, right?

Another Great Day of Music
There were several different styles available in red, so making a decision wouldn’t be that easy.
In the end, I opted for exactly the same pair of shoes as my purple Ida’s, but cerise red instead.

Glorious Ida’s
After my final purchase, I made my way up to the Control Tower to listen to some good live music and to treat myself to that ice cream.
I opted for a bit of a combination, mint choc chip as my first scoop and rhubarb and custard as my second scoop. I added a flake on top and I was sorted.

Ice Cream Crazy
Sitting in the sun, with my tub of marvellous ice cream, I listened and watched as people jived, bopped and strolled to “The Casinos”. It really was a sight to see.
Eventually I headed back down to the main arena, stopping to chat to some old pals, before sitting in my comfy recliner chair and relaxing to some fabulous music.

The Amazing Boo and Karen
Normally I leave around 5pm on Monday as I have to go back to work the next day, however I really wanted to see “Sarah-Mai and her Band” so hung around and it was absolutely well worth it.
I left about 730pm, taking home two happy uncles, a bit of a suntan and a much lighter pocket.

Delightful
Time for start saving for next year now!
Till Next Time.
