As a 51 year old female, I have still not grown out of my love for make-up and pretty things.
This is very transparent in my clothing, hair flowers, handbags, hats and more.
So, when I saw that the make-up brand “Revolution” had a Winter sale on, I hurried straight over as I love the brand and there was up to 70% off.

What’s in the box?
One of the things I love the most about Revolution, is the eye-shadow palettes that they create. Bright, colours, or classy, shimmering nudes, they have them all and everything in between.
I must own at least 20 of their palettes and love the consistency, colour depth and most of all, choice.
For a change, I stayed away from the palettes this time, but did stock up on the fundamentals; primer, foundation, concealer and items for my brows and lashes.

Goodies!
There may also have been a lipstick, blusher and highlighter in there somewhere!
I had recently been using two different foundations, depending on the coverage that I need; the IRL Filter foundation when I need full coverage, and Revolution Skin Silk Radiant Satin Serum Foundation which is a light to medium coverage.
I had gone for both in shade F4(C) which is a light beige although looks very dark on the colour chart.

Excited to try them all
Having given the Revolution IRL Filter 16H Longwear Soft Matte Foundation F4 a try for the last 2 months, I was really impressed by it and the price point of £9.99 was pretty good too.
The fact that this was now in the sale at £6.99, a reduction of 30%, impressed my pocket even more.
I popped one of those in the basket and added a Revolution Skin Silk Radiant Serum Under Eye Brightener & Concealer Fair Cool, which I hadn’t tried yet. This was down to £6.29, from £8.99 so again a great bargain.

Necessary Items
Another face essential was the Relove by Revolution Super Matte Primer down to £2.80. I love a Matte primer and this one has worked great for me in the past.
I then spotted an item that was new to me, but worth a go; Makeup Revolution Superdewy Tinted Moisturiser Medium Light
Now, I don’t always want to wear foundation, whether it be full coverage or light/medium. Having an option to use a tinted moisturiser is one I really like, so I grabbed a tube of this, down to just £4.50.
One of the items that I didn’t originally intend to buy was Revolution Pro Miracle Lab Fix Pro-Collagen Pillow Plump Face Mask but I do love a bit of a pamper and this one was full of collagen and hyaluronic acid. At £8.00 for two masks, I thought it was worth ago.
Into the basket it went.

Pampering Time
Then it was time for the eye products; specifically mascara, liners and brow items.
Firstly were the Makeup Revolution Big Lash Reloaded Volume Mascara Ultra Black and Revolution Big Lash Reloaded Volume Mascara.
What was the difference? Well, not really a lot apart from one being ultra black, but with 50% off both, it was pretty much a Buy One Get One Free deal, at just £2.50 each.
Next was a completely new item to me, but I was intrigued by it and wanted to give it a go.
I probably wouldn’t have bought it at its £6.00 full price, but with 50% off, I thought it was worth a try.

Super shiny packaging
The Relove by Revolution Water Activated Liner Distinction is a eyeliner duo in a crisp black and white which comes with its own application brush. This allows you to build up your eyeliner until you get your desired look.
You literally just add water.
On my list was also some new brow powder and I spotted a slightly unusual one for me, the Makeup Revolution Brow Powder Stamp & Stencil Kit Ash Brown
This product comes with 4 stencils that you put over your eyebrow before pressing the preloaded sponge onto it.

Two new items to try
I had never tried anything like this, so I popped it into the basket as it was down to £4.20, a 30% reduction.
Finally I had a look at the pretty things; actual make-up.
In the end, I decided against those palettes and beautiful coloured items, limiting myself to two necessary products, a blusher and a highlighter.
The Blusher Reloaded Pink Lady was a very pink, very pretty blusher with a velvet powder feel. To compliment it, I went with Makeup Revolution Reloaded Highlighter Set the Tone which is a sparkly cream coloured highlighter, which is my preference.

Look at the sparkle!
Both items were a complete bargain; £2.00 for the highlighter and £2.80 for the blusher.
My final purchase was a perennial favourite of mine, a red lipstick.
Now, I must have 40 or 50 red lip products; crayons, silks, inks, 24hr long lasting, lipsticks, lip-gels and more.
I can’t resist them and always find new ones to try.

Shhhh this contains the secret product…
In this case, it was the Revolution Air Blur Matte Liquid Lipstick Fiery
Down by 30% to just £4.89, it advertises the fact that it is a whipped velvet formula with no cracking or caking.
Well, it had me sold.
After adding all that to basket, I qualified for a free gift; BH Travel Series: Escapade 6 Piece Mini Face & Eye Brush Set With Bag

A Freebie!
To be honest, I wasn’t expecting that much from the freebie, and expected them to be quite cheap and a bit inferior.
However, I was totally surprised by the thickness of the bristles and how luxurious they were.
The best thing about them was the fact that they were smaller in size, so perfect for taking away on holiday, which is exactly what they were designed for.
Coming in their own little pouch, I was actually really thrilled with my freebie, and plan to take it on my next adventure.

A great range
What I didn’t expect to come in the box was another freebie; this one using some points I had earnt from previous purchases.
Now, if I had realised this was on its way, I probably wouldn’t have ordered two mascaras.
However, this was the Makeup Revolution 5D Lash Pow Mascara which I had not tried before.
Priced at £9.99, I am looking forward to seeing how good this one is.

My complete haul
Now, I might have slightly fibbed when I said the lipstick was the last item on the bill, as I did purchase a cute velvet hair bow and an item that I grabbed for a very good friend.
Hopefully they won’t see this blog before it arrives in the post for them!
All in all, my make-up and skin care haul cost the grand total of £57.00 instead of £93.95.

Black Velvet
Quite a bargain, considering most of the products are ones I have used before and trust as well as really like!
So, how did it all go?

What Do You Think?
Well, I will leave you to decide on whether you like the look or not.
Me, well I am very pleased with it and I still have the facemasks to use!

Pretty Happy, to be honest
A bit of a winner, in my eyes.
Till next time,
